# 5.3 - Operations

The Operations tab displays each currently active rig as information cards in a dashboard layout. Each card can be configured to display different information about it’s well. This allows a coordinator to monitor multiple wells at the same time, and quickly look up well information when needed.

The number of cards displayed on the screen can be changed using the **Cards per Row** option at the top of the page. Each card has the following common features:

**Rig name:** Displays the rig that the card belongs to. Clicking on the name will take the user to the Well Details page for the current well. The user can also favourite or unfavourite the rig by clicking on the star next to the status icon.

**Well Details:** Displays details of the well and also shows when the last update was pushed from the field to the server.

**Principal Plan Progress:** Displays the name of the principal plan for the well, and the current MD of the well / the plan TD MD.

**Current Rig State:** Requires WITS data being pushed from the field. Displays the active BHA, the current rig state and the current hole and bit depth.

**Alerts:** See **section 3.4** for more details on alerts. If a rig triggers an alert, it’s card will be highlighted with a red border. The user can then hover over the bell symbol to see details of the alert. This only happens if the user has dashboard notification activated for any of their alerts.

**Card main display:** This is where the information for each card is displayed. The card type can be changed using the **card type selector** dropdown on each card. Alternatively, the **View** dropdown at the top of the page can be used to change the card type for all cards at once. Each card type is detailed in the sections below.

**Drilling parameter gauges:** Requires an active WITS feed coming from the field. Displays a gauge for each drilling parameter being transmitted. Hover over each gauge to view the range and any danger zones for each parameter. Most of these zones are taken from the motor component properties in the Drill String page. The final gauge on the right displays the rig block height.

**Quick links:** The user can click on one of these links to go to the relevant Well Views page for the selected well. This is also where the user can access the **Data Config** settings for the well. See **section 5.5 – Data Configuration.**

## 5.3.1 - Summary

The Summary card displays an overview of the well.

The top of the card displays the Depth V Days chart. Hover over the chart to get more details on that specific point in the hole. At the top of the page, the **DvD Colors** section contains some options to customise the chart - **BHA/Hole** will toggle between showing the BHA name or the hole size on the X-Axis. **Display Phase** will toggle the display of the drilling phases.

The Anti-Collison overview displays AC results for the principal plan, the nearest lease and the nearest offset. The C2C and Separation Factor columns will be highlighted if they have violated any of the AC rules, as defined in the Anti Collision page (section 7.4). The Trend column displays a 100, 200 and 300 ft projection, showing how the C2C and SF will change if the current trajectory trend is continued.

The top of this section displays details of the most recent survey.

Lastly, the card displays the 24 hour summary and 24 hour lookahead from the latest daily report.

## 5.3.2 - Well Details

The Well Details card displays information on the surface location of the well, the coordinate reference system, and the depth, north and vertical section references.

It also displays the well surface location on a map. The map can be zoomed using your scroll wheel, and can moved by left-clicking and dragging. Note that the map uses Google Maps, so the surface location may not be 100% accurate.

## 5.3.3. - Statistics

The top section of the statistics displays the drilling hours, non productive time, ROP and footage for the well, taken from the daily activities. This is split into four categories – the last 24 hours, the current phase, the current BHA and the well in total.

The bottom section of the card displays the Cost Per Day chart. The bars represent the cost for each day (left axis). Hover over different colours to see details of each individual cost. The line represents the cumulative total cost for the well (right axis).

## 5.3.4 - Anti-Collision

The top left of the card displays the proximity chart. This plots the C2C distance and toolface of nearby offsets from the latest survey. The details of the latest survey are in the top right. The **Display Labels** button will add the offset names to the chart. At the top of the page, in the **AC Scale** section, the user can change the maximum C2C distance of the proximity chart.

The **Well Plan** line shows the up/down and left/right distance to the principal plan for the latest survey. The **Closest Offset** shows the C2C and separation factor for the nearest offset.

The bottom of the card shows the AC results for the well. If the user clicks on **Summary**, the card will only show results for the nearest offset, the principal plan and the nearest lease line. If the user clicks **All**, it will show results for all offsets. The C2C and Separation Factor columns will be highlighted if they have violated any of the AC rules, as defined in the Anti Collision page (**section 7.4**).

The Trend column displays a 100, 200 and 300 ft projection, showing how the C2C and SF will change if the current trajectory trend is continued.

## 5.3.5 - BHA

Displays the currently picked up BHA. The section at the top displays extra details for the motor/RSS, MWD offsets, and bit data.

## 5.3.6 - Latest Surveys

The top half of the card displays the 10 most recent surveys in the well. The chart below displays the inclination, dogleg, build and turn of all surveys in the well. The chart can be decluttered by clicking on an item in the legend to hide it. The **Show Slide Fill** button will display the slide percentage of each survey on the chart.

## 5.3.7 - Survey Charts

Displays the plan, section or 3D plot for the well. The user can switch between them using the buttons above the plot area. At the top of the page, the **Survey Charts** dropdown allows the user to change the chart type for all cards simultaneously. The Surveys page also displays these charts with more customisation options (**section 7.6**).

When viewing the plan or section plots:

* **Shift + Mouse Scroll Wheel** to zoom in and out.
* **Shift + Left Click + Drag** to move the plot around.

When viewing the 3D plot:

* **Mouse Scroll Wheel** to zoom in and out.
* **Shift + Left Click + Drag** to move the plot around.
* **Left Click + Drag** to rotate the plot around the current survey.
* **Up and Down arrows** to change the currently viewed survey.

## 5.3.8 - Incidents

If there have been any incidents or failures for the well, they will be displayed in this card. Click on the **>** symbol to expand an incident and view some additional information. This data comes from the Run Data dialog in the Drill String page (**section 7.10**).

## 5.3.9 - BHA Stats

Displays performance statistics for every BHA in the well. The chart at the top displays the distance drilled for each BHA, divided into rotating (green) and sliding (orange).

## 5.3.10 - EDR

Displays the readout from the EDR page (section 7.2). The card is read only – any customisation of the readout must be done on the EDR page.

The user can change the time period being viewed by left clicking and dragging the yellow viewing area in the bottom left of the card. Left clicking and dragging on the date and time shown on the viewing area allows the user to change how large a time interval is displayed on the EDR.

If a WITS feed is active for the well, user can click on the icon in the top left of the card to activate auto scroll. This will automatically scroll the EDR to keep up with incoming data.

## 5.3.11 - Well Schematic

Displays the casing and formations for the well. This data is taken from Actual Well level in the Object Explorer (**section 6.5**), but can be edited via this card by clicking on the **Edit Formations** and **Edit Casing** buttons in the top right.

## 5.3.12 - MWD

The MWD card displays the details of the MWD in the currently active BHA. This data is taken from the Drill String page (**section 7.10**) except for the Magnetics section, which is taken from the Actual Well Properties (**section 6.5**).

## 5.3.13 - Engineering

The Engineering card allows the user to quickly view the hydraulics and torque & drag model for the selected well. This card will display the active case for the well by default. If there are no case created for the well, it will display an auto-generated case.

Clicking on the <img src="/files/xyRbDKXixTBRPwtN1Zbb" alt="" data-size="line"> burger menu icon in the top right of the card allows the user to choose which engineering output chart is displayed. The user can choose between **Pump Pressure, Surge & Swab, Driller’s Hookloads** and **Driller’s Torques**. For other outputs, see the full Engineering page (**section 7.13**). The **Engineering Case** option displays the inputs for the current case.

When viewing the charts, the following options will also be available:

**Show Legend:** Toggles the display of the legend below the chart. Clicking on items in the legend allows the user to hide them from the chart.

**Active Case:** Allows the user to switch between the Engineering case being viewed.

**Select BHAs:** Toggling a BHA on adds that BHA’s slide sheet parameter and/or WITS data to the charts. This is configured using the Engineering dropdown box at the top of the page.

At the top of the page the **Engineering** dropdown box allows the user to apply the above options to all cards. The **Show Slidesheet Data** and **Show WITS Data** options govern what is displayed when the user toggles the Select BHAs option in each card.

## 5.3.14 - Personnel

Displays the personnel currently at the rig site. This data is drawn from the Daily Reports page (**section 7.5**).

## 5.3.15 - Inventory

This card displays the inventory currently at the rig site, drawn from the Inventory page (**section 7.6**). Click on the **>** or **V** icons to expand and collapse the different tool categories. Tools in the currently picked up BHA will be marked as **In Hole**. Tools that have previously used for drilling in the well will be marked as **Dirty.**

## 5.3.16 - Notes

The notes page provides the space for a coordinator to leave some informative notes on the rig for future reference. Double click in a text box to edit it.
