11.6.4.5 - Tools

11.6.4.5.1 - Insert from Inv.
The Insert From Inventory dialog allows the user to import drill string components from the Tool Inventory into the Drill String Editor. It can be accessed by selecting the desired row in the Assembly Details and right clicking, or from the menu.
The Insert From Inventory dialog contains all tools currently in the Tool Inventory for the well. If the Component field in the Assembly Details has already been selected, the dialog will be filtered so that it only shows components of that type.
The user can select an item from the dialog and click the Insert button to add it to the drill string. If the other Assembly Details fields have been recorded in the Tool Inventory, then they will also be imported. The SN, Cnx Top, Cnx Bottom, Make and Model fields will be imported into the Component Properties.
When inserted into the drill string this way, the Tool Inventory will track drilling and circulating hours on the components. See Tool Inventory for more information.
11.6.4.5.2 - BHA Stats.
This opens the Well Statistics dialog. See Well Statistics for more information.
11.6.4.5.3 - Neutral Point
The Neutral Point calculator allows the user to find the zero tension or neutral point in the current BHA. It requires a mud weight entered into the top dialog in the drill string editor, and either some surveys or a principal plan entered for the well. It does not require a jar in the string to function.
Enter a MD and four weights on bit (WOB) that you want to test. If the MD entered is deeper than the survey listing, it will use the principal plan instead. The Results section will populate with one result for each WOB that was entered. Each result will show the MD and TVD of the neutral point, the distance between the neutral point and the bit, and the component in the BHA where the neutral point occurs.
