# 6.8 - Level 7: Survey

A survey represents a set of surveys taken with a single survey tool. An actual wellbore is made up of multiple surveys, combined together according to the survey program for the actual well.

To create a new survey for an actual well, right click on it and select **Insert New Survey.**

The survey level is made up of two components - the Survey Properties and the Survey View. **Use the navigation tree on the left to view the page for each component, or follow the links below:**

* [**Survey Properties**](/introduction/innova-engineering-manual/well-seeker-x-manual/6.0-well-seeker-x-database-structure/6.8-level-7-survey/6.8.1-survey-properties.md) **-** Where the user defines configures various properties of the survey.
* [**Survey View**](/introduction/innova-engineering-manual/well-seeker-x-manual/6.0-well-seeker-x-database-structure/6.8-level-7-survey/6.8.2-survey-view.md) **-** Where the user enters the survey stations.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.innova-drilling.com/introduction/innova-engineering-manual/well-seeker-x-manual/6.0-well-seeker-x-database-structure/6.8-level-7-survey.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
