8.3.3 - Dashboards
8.3.3.1 - Activity
The Activity Dashboard allows the user to monitor the status of all wells (aka ‘jobs’) in the current database, as well as the status of personnel. It is populated using Reporting Data. See Section 11.0 – Reportingfor more information. The Activity Dashboard can be left open or minimized whilst working in other sections of Well Seeker X.
When first opened the Activity Dashboard will display the Summary page. This page can be returned to at any time by selecting Show Summary in the ribbon. The page is split into three charts:
Job Summary by Customer (left) – Displays the number of wells in the database for each operator and their status. The status of a well is set in Job Data dialog.
Job Summary by Coordinator (top right) – Displays the number of wells, along with their status, that have been assigned to each DD Coordinator in the database. The DD Coordinator is set in the Job Data dialog.
Job Summary by State (bottom right) – Displays the number of wells, and their status, in each US state. The state that a well is drilling in is defined in the Job Data dialog.
Below the Summary charts is the Jobs Grid. This is a list of all wells in the database that can be filtered using the dropdown boxes at the top of the grid. Well information for these filters is defined in the Job Data dialog for each well, except for the Operator, which is defined in the Operator Properties dialog.
Selecting a well in the Jobs Grid will cause the Summary page to change to the Well Details for that well. When viewing the Summary page, the details for the last well selected can be opened by selecting Show Well Details in the ribbon.
The Well Details page is split into four charts:
Days vs Depth (top left): Displays the Days vs Depth KPI chart from the Daily Report. This chart is constructed from the daily activities section of the daily report. The chart can be customised by clicking on the options in the Depth v Days section of the ribbon.
Well Information (bottom left): Displays some general well information from the Daily Report and surveys.
Revenue Tracking (top right): Displays the daily revenue of the selected well. This chart is generated using the daily costs in the Daily Report.
Inventory (bottom right): Displays the number of different types of equipment in the well inventory. This chart is generated using the Tool Inventory.
Right clicking on a chart makes two options available:
Maximize: Opens a new window with a larger image of the selected chart. Press the ‘Esc’ key to close.
Export Dialog: Allows the chart to be exported as an image.
The ribbon at the top of the window has the following options:
Job Board: Prints an Excel report detailing the current active wells, upcoming and standby wells, a revenue report, daily revenue report and a summary of activities.
Motor Overview: Prints an Excel report listing the motors that are currently in the field.
Refresh: It refreshes the in the Activity Dashboard.
Open well in tree: Expands the well currently selected in the Jobs Grid in the Object Explorer.
Show Summary: Shows the Summary page.
Show Well Details: Shows the Well Details page for the well selected in the grid.
Depth V Days: Provides options to customise the depth v days chart.
Revenue Report: Allows the user to set the date range in the revenue report section of the job board report.
View: Allows the user to hide the Charts section of the Jobs Grid.
8.3.3.2 - Logistics
The Logistics Dashboard searches all the well inventories in the database and displays all tools which are listed in these inventories. Note that if the On Location box is not checked, the tool will not show up in this dialog. See section 11.7 – Tool Inventory for more information. The Logistics Dashboard can be left open whilst working on other parts of the database.
The Filters section of the ribbon allows the user to filter the results based on well status, tool type, tool status, state, county, rig, well, job # and serial #.
The interactive map at the top left of the dialog displays whatever tools are listed in the results table. Left clicking on any pin in the map will open a window, listing the tools at that location. The window will detail the following for each tool: Serial Number, Description, Tool Type and Status.
The chart at the top right of the dialog shows the number of tools in the inventory at each rig in the database and splits them up by tool type. The chart can be customised by right clicking and selecting ‘Export Dialog’.
The Reset Map button will reset the map to the default position if it has been moved or zoomed in. If any changes are made to the database, the user can click the Refresh Databutton to update the table.
In the Layout section, the user can choose which columns are displayed in the grid, and if they want to display the map, chart or grid. Highlight Rows colours the components in the results in the same way as they are in the Inventory window.
8.3.3.3 - Incidents
The Incident Dashboard is only accessible when logged into a remote server. The dashboard allows the user to review all BHA failures that have occurred over the previous twelve months. BHA failures are recorded in the Drilling Data and MWD Run Data dialogs in the Drill String Editor. See section 11.6 – Drill String Editor for more information.
The top half of the window is split into three charts. All of these charts show incidents that have occurred over the last twelve months:
Incident Overview – Displays the total number of BHA failures and the months that they occurred, coloured by the type of tool that failed. BHAs that have had an incident recorded in either the Drilling Data or MWD Run Data dialog will be marked on the chart. The month on which they are marked is set by the Date Out date for their BHA. The chart also displays the number of open and closed failure investigations. A BHA is marked as closed if the Closed checkbox in the Evaluation section of the Drilling Data is checked.
Motor Vendor – Displays the total number of motor failures and the months that they occurred, coloured by the motor make. The motor make is set by the Make field in the component properties of the motor in the Drill String Editor.
MWD Type – Displays the total number of MWD failures and the months that they occurred, coloured by the MWD type. The MWD type is set in the Daily Data section of the main Daily Reports window.
The bottom half of the window contains the incidents grid. This is a list of all BHAs that have had BHAs that have had an incident recorded in either the Drilling Data or MWD Run Data dialog. The list contains all such BHAs in the database, and is not restricted to occurrences within the last twelve months like the charts. The list can be filtered using the drop-down boxes and the Job # search box at the top of the grid.
Selecting a well in the grid will replace the Incident Overview chart with a listing of the components in the BHA. The user can then use the Open Selected Well in Tree command in the File menu to open the well or return the Incident Overview chart by selecting Show Summary in the View menu.
