Release Notes for 3.0.6.1 (21^st May 2026)

• New ‘Survey Email Update’ option added to Report Manager in Home ribbon menu

• New checkbox ‘Include PVA’ added to Survey Update dialog. Marking this option will add a PVA attachment in PDF format to the email.

• WITSML dialog now has an info box rather than a message list. Message list is in the bottom right of the window and behaves the same as the serial WITS.

• Serial/TCP, WITSML and MQTT button added to home menu

  • Users have an actual well selected from the tree to open the dialog

  • If the dialog is already open and the user click on another well and try to open it again it will change the well name

  • You can only have one WITS reader (of each type) open from the main window

  • You cannot open WITS readers from the slide sheet for the same well if they are already open in the main window and vice versa

• On Job Data dialog, the user needs to fill rig cell before changing the well status to active. If the Rig is not populated, the user will see an error message when trying to apply the change

• When adding new images either via external files or in the operator logos dialog, the images will now be resized and compressed. This will take an image which is in the MB size range into the KB size range

• ‘Random colors’ added to Chart Defaults menu

• Added new ‘Neutral Point’ calculator tool on Drill String dialog

  • If the depth entered is greater than the actual well then it will use the plan instead

  • The mud weight used is from the drill string editor dialog

• ‘Go to survey’ option added to context menu on Surveys and Actual Wellbore grid.

  • When user clicks in the ‘Go to survey’ if the 3D view chart is opened, it will move to the survey selected.

• Added filter based on C2C to Chart Properties on 3D view chart

  • If blank, no filtering is applied

  • It will only work if 'Center on Survey' option is selected

  • The filter will update every time the work sight is moved up and down the well

• Added new columns on Slide Sheet to display Surveys.

  • The columns are disabled by default and can be turned on in the Column Options

  • MD INC and Azi are editable and will sync with the survey view the slide sheet was opened from.

  • Updating the survey view will update the slide sheet

  • Deleting rows on the slide sheet will only delete surveys on the survey view if the MD INC and AZI columns are visible

• New function added to handle operator and well name changes while drilling.

  • Whenever an object is renamed and the user is connected to the server an entry will be added to a new table called ‘object_name_changes’

  • If user is on a local the following will apply:

    • If the data sync is active then changes will be checked for, no data sync no name change sync

    • All levels of name change are tracked except for Surveys

    • Name changes are checked for every 6 mins

    • If the original object name is found on the local, then it will be renamed and there will be a notification.

• New option added to Actual Wellbore properties dialog, when the user is connected to the server to identify Multi Leg Lateral.

  • If a well is marked as a multi leg lateral the side track wizard will have a drop down with the leg number instead of allowing the user to enter the side track number

  • It will look for the UWI from the parent well name and extract it

  • It will also look through all the well plans under the well and see if it can find a plan with the same leg number and if so, will extract the UWI

  • If a valid UWI is not found on the parent or for a plan then the process will fail

  • If a UWI for a plan is found it will be used instead of the parent

  • The event part of the UWI (the 2 digits after the last forward slash) will be updated with the leg number

  • The mother bore is referred to as leg 1 and will always have the /00 at the end. This is why there will never be an option for leg 1 in the drop down on the side track wizard. Leg 2 has /02 Leg 3 has /03 etc

  • The side track will be created with the new UWI number

  • If a multi leg lateral is created on a local and the UWI is valid it will then be pushed to and created on the server

Release Notes for 3.0.5.3 (11^th February 2026)

• When a Plan or Actual is defined as a sidetrack, selecting Apply in the Plan or Actual Properties dialog will now automatically copy Annotations, Casings, and Formations from the parent (mother) bore into the sidetrack.

  • Duplicate entries identified based on MD will be cleaned.

  • Only entries above the sidetrack point will be copied.

  • The same behaviour applies when creating sidetracks using the Sidetrack Wizard.

• Added block weight column to the rig names dialog

  • If updated or changed it will update all wells using this rig

• Added block weight to the Job Data dialog

• Added block weight to the rig states dialog

  • If auto thresholds is turned on and block weight > 0 then the hookload threshold will be block weight * 1.5.

• Added a new 'Engineering' well status

  • Any well with an Engineering status will be excluded from offset selection, KPIs, drill string recommendations and parameter roadmap outputs.

• Added ‘Re run’ to MWD/LWD Component properties.

• Added new ‘RSS Comms’ column to Slide sheet

  • It is calculated real time in the rig states processor

  • It requires a WITS mapping for contInc

    • If contInc is updating, then the value is considered good

    • If it is not updating, then it is bad

  • Rss comms is a percentage of ((total distance – bad distance)/total distance*100)

Release Notes for 3.0.5.3 (03^rd February 2026)

• New function added to the save on the survey and the plan view. This will remove invalid lines in the survey program. An invalid line is classed as one where the well or survey column is blank or the end depth is < start depth.

  • If In slips, then always assume Connection.

  • Drilling is determined by being on bottom (< on btm delta) and not in slips (we now ignore pump pressure for air drilling).

• Magnetic to gravity tool face cross over angle added to the rig state thresholds.

• New multi column sorting functionality added to Tool Inventory dialog. User can choose up to three columns to sort and select the sorting order using the new section in the ribbon menu.

• New method added to Multi Nudge Projection ‘MD/INC/AZI’. This option allows the user to select Measured Depth (MD), Inclination (Inc) and Azimuth (Azi) to calculate the projection.

• Added Ground Level Elevation to the Survey Report in Tab Delimited Text File format.

• Added new options to the server updater. This will be updated on Vantage and reflect on Well Seeker. The updater now has:

  • Magnetic Models

  • Unit Sets

  • Report Templates

  • Report Covers (only for organizations that have this in place)

  • Licenses

Release Notes for 3.0.5.0 (08^th January 2026)

• Create offset plan logic updated to account for 0’VS target line changes when on the return leg of a U turn well. 0’VS data input as usual, but the return leg dip will be adjusted accordingly.

• Excel export button added to Daily Activity Editor dialog.

Release Notes for 3.0.5.0 (05^th January 2026)

• Added retry for Data Sync and RT data exchange settings. If settings are not pulled on startup, Well Seeker will try again every 30 mins.

Release Notes for 3.0.4.6 (02^nd January 2026)

• Added new server based updater to Well Seeker, and the UI is on Vantage, on Well Seeker Admin submenu. Well seeker will check and download new mag models, unit sets and report templates every 30 minutes and download it.

  • If the magnetic file uploaded on Vantage is a dll it needs to have either x86 or x64 in the file name to indicate which version of well seeker should use it.

Release Notes for 3.0.4.6 (22^nd December 2025)

• New ‘Depleted Zone’ added to 3D chart.

  • The dimension can be specified on Actual Wellbore Properties dialog for actual wells and will not display for plans.

  • This will display a non-expanding ellipse, based on the dimensions set at the actual wellbore properties dialog, and where the depleted zones intersect, they will be in red.

  • User can select to display the depleted zone and choose the colour on the 3D chart properties.

Release Notes for 3.0.4.5 (19^th December 2025)

• New Change Dip option added to the Create Offset Plan feature. When checked it will behave as it always has, i.e., will apply a TVD shift and track azimuth changes, but maintain a constant inclination/dip. If unchecked it will mirror both the original plan dip/inc and azi values with TVD shift applied.

• A Microsoft Access Version 2511 (Build 19426.20186), released on 9^th December, was causing issues relating to Well Seeker data pulls and imports to failing, and in some cases, corrupting local databases. To resolve the issue, a new version was released to all Well Seeker users.

• ‘Preserve aspect ratio’ checkbox added to the Select Data dialog for tables on WPC. Toggling this option off will allow the user to adjust the table size ignoring the aspect ratio

• New ‘Desktop’ option added to Colours grid on Charts properties. This changes the colour background of the charts.

• RTAC – Deployed a change on ‘Ok to cross functionality’ for the lease line crossing points. Changed from a 200x50 rectangle to a 200 x 200 square.

Release Notes for 3.0.4.2 (08^th November 2025)

• New unit set added US ftlbs

• New logic deployed to RTAC ‘OK to cross’ functionality. Now calculation is rectangle orientated with the lease line crossing points. We also now look at the direction vector of the lease line closest approach and lease line crossing if they are not similar (>15 degrees difference) then we still trigger the warning.

• On Daily Reports dialog, the drop-down list for personnel will now order the names alphabetically, regardless of the order they appear in the personnel details table.

• Surveys automatically received via the survey correction integration will now auto push to server. This only works if Data Sync is turned on.

· Pasting data into Inventory for CNX top will check to see if the connection exists in the list, and if it doesn’t will past as a blank value

· Search box and ‘Fetch’ button added to Component Catalogue to allow users to fetch components from the server

· SF plot and Ladder Plot will have randomized colours for offset wells when added to AC Report

· New ‘Collision Prob’ column added to AC Report. This shows the probability of collision when user have casing turned on and a casing radius. This option will be disabled by default.

· Added WITS0 mnemonics ecd, annularPressure and bhp (bore hole pressure) as selection options for WITS mapping.

· When pasting data into the Casing dialog it will by default use the TVD value if one is present rather than use the MD.

· From Actual or Planned Well Properties, when Exporting Geomag Data user will be able to see Correction from True North to Grid and from MAG to Grid below the compass rose

Release Notes for 3.0.4.0 (15^th October 2025)

• Plan Inc and Plan Azi added to the survey grid. Displays the values from the 3D closest point on the principal plan.

• Slide remaining logic for the value displayed in the survey grid has been updated to include all slides recorded in the slide sheet that have not yet been covered by a survey interval.

• Surveys now auto save if a survey entry is added via WITS or a survey integration feature.

• Phase Editor added to the Daily Activity Editor. The user can select a phase from the dropdown, enter a start and end depth, and click Update. All phase codes within the specified range will be updated to the selected phase.

• ID added to Casing Details dialog.

Release Notes for 3.0.3.4 (09^th October 2025)

• Auto-backup feature added. Well Seeker will now auto-backup the open database every two hours and store in the C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Well Seeker Pro\DB Backup folder. Up to five versions of the same database will be stored, before the oldest will be overwritten, effectively giving the user up to 10 hours worth of local database backups at 2 hour intervals.

• Added Spanish dictionary for spell checker functionality. To activate user needs to have Windows system language set to Spanish.

Release Notes for 3.0.3.4 (06^th October 2025)

• Changed the way error ellipses are drawn in the 3D and plan view plots.

  • In 3D view standard ellipses now display 2 crossed ellipsoids, one is the high side lateral ellipse and the other is the lateral along hole ellipse. This will show the correct representation of the errors in all directions.

  

  • In the 3D view there are now options in the chart properties to display as a cone or an ellipsoid.

  

  • On the plan view the error ellipse plotted is the NEV ellipse from the covariance matrix. This means that the ellipse semi major may not always be perpendicular to the wellbore.

• Added Plan/Actual Well name for reference on Data Factory dialog.

• Added lease line intersection logic in the RTAC dialog. If the principal plan of a well crosses a lease line and your actual well in within a 200’ horizontal radius of this intersection, the Warning OK to cross will be displayed.

• Slide/Rotate rig states logic has been updated to accommodate scenarios where the WITS data frequency caused the rpm values during oscillation to not vary much. New logic takes rpm variation as the primary indicator and torque as a secondary indicator for oscillation

Release Notes for 3.0.3.2 (27^th September 2025)

• New option added to Integrations ribbon menu ‘Data Factory ROGII’

  • Only available if a well is selected

  • Circle in the map can be dragged and resized

  • Max search radius is 10 miles

  • Can only be opened if the selected well uses NAD83 or NAD27 and only the same wells can be pulled in.

  • Requires Rogii login credentials to utilize.

  

• New option added to context menu for exporting options ‘Export with offsets’

Release Notes for 3.0.3.2 (23^rd September 2025)

• On Motor Stall dialog

  • Stall detection now has a user defined threshold in the thresholds grid (this is the stall pressure above the avg pressure which determines a stall).

  • Stall is classed as ended if pressure drops below the avg pressure at start of stall + 10%.

  
• Pump Cycles is now logged in rig states. If there is no pump cycle data captured by wits, it will use the number of code 10s found in the daily reports.

  • Code 10 pump cycles will only be updated when the daily reports have been saved.

• Added total motor rotor revolutions on motor report.

• Added ‘Hybrid’ bit type on Drill String Editor.

Release Notes for 3.0.3.2 (22^nd September 2025)

• Dialog added to Drill String and Slide Sheet for more detailed motor stall information.

  • If stall data is entered here it will grey out the #stalls and stall pressure in the BHA run data dialog and use the data from the stall dialog.

  • The goal is to capture the total energy and potential damage each stall has.

  • Stall data section has been added to PDF and excel motor report.

  • New Stall detection processor has been added to rig states.

    • There is a diagnostics section for it in the rig states dialog below the rpm thresholds.

    • Rules:

      • Need to have a minimum of 30 samples in the pressure and flow buffers (usually this will be 30 seconds).

      • Flow rate needs to be stable compared to the average (within 5% of the average).

      • Flow buffer will reset if there is a change of flow > 10% of average.

      • Minimum time of 30 seconds between stalls.

      • Max stall time is 3 mins.

      • All stall data will save to the stall data section available in the drill string or slide sheets.

• New parameters added to the Motor Performance Report.

  • Motor nutations (total rotor revolutions * stator lobes).

  • Motor Work kJ (measure of the amount of input hydraulic power and relates to how hard the motor has worked).

  • Pump Cycles

  

Release Notes for 3.0.3.2 (19^th September 2025)

• New option added to External File dialog.

  • ‘Open File Location in the context menu.

  • Image preview.

  • Rotate button for images.

  
• Images dialog on Drill String was removed and the Files dialog is been updated to match the External Files dialog.

Release Notes for 3.0.3.2 (18^th September 2025)

• External Files dialog has been updated

  • Details of the files are shown in the tree (file size, local file name, and BHA number)

  • The file is added automatically

  • To delete a file, use the delete key

  • Double click to open the file

  • If a file is in the external files table but not on the local machine a red badge with an exclamation mark will be displayed next to its name

  • Can drag and drop files on to the dialog to add them

  • Can drag and drop files between folders

  • Can select multiple files to deleted at once

  • Can assign a BHA to any file by using the drop down in the BHA column

  • If a file is an image an gets a BHA assigned to it, it will automatically be moved to the images sub folder and be visible in the images dialog in the drill string editor

  • If a file is an image and has a BHA assigned to it, you cannot drag it out of the images folder

  • There is a context menu which can be used for open delete and copy to clipboard

    • If copied to clipboard the file can be pasted to any other folder or desktop

• ‘Oasis activity export’ option added to Print DDR options on Daily Reports

• Added 200ft spheres which display on the 3D plot at points where the principal plan intersects a lease line.

• RT AC lease lines will show the text in the warning column “OK to cross” if you are less than the lease line C2C warning distance but the point of interest is within 200ft of the point at which a principal plan crosses a lease line. If the inclination of the survey is > 60 then the TVD portion of the distance is ignored and it just looks at the horizontal distance

• 2 3/8 REG SST, 4 A107, 4 1/2 VX46, AILM 395AILM 450, Delta 243, Delta 259, Delta 321, Delta 377, Delta 494, Delta 576, Delta 663, XT24, XT26, XT29, XT30, XT31, XT34, XT55 connections added to Connection Top dropdown list on Component Properties.

• Added a new dialog to help diagnose data sync / exchange issues. Right click on an actual well and click on Data Sync Diagnostic. This will tell the user if there are any factors which would cause the data sync to fail.

• Viscosity added to mud data on motor performance report for PDF and Excel format.

• When a plan is sidetracked/tied on to another well/plan and user wants to change Tie-on section to ‘User Defined’ or ‘From Surface’, it shows a warning saying ‘This action will disconnect the plan from the tie on well. Do you wish to continue?’. If the user selected user defined it would use the same values that were previously in the From survey / plan section, clear the ST details and survey program and add a new row to the Survey program from the user defined tie on point.

• Deployed an enhancement to the tool transfer process with Oasis:

Previously if credentials were entered locally when tools were transferred in the tool inventory a dialog would pop up asking if you wanted to transfer tools in Oasis. With the new setup for Oasis, credentials were entered on the server not the local, so this transfer tools step did not notify Oasis if tools were moved. The updated version will now notify Oasis when tool transfers are done, it will try to match the job number of the well tools are being transferred from and the job number of the well being transferred to in Oasis. If it managed to do the above tools will be transferred in Oasis, if not there will be an error displayed.

• Implemented a check on Oasis credentials dialog, in URL field if there is //, WSX will remove one / to fix the URL

• Well Seeker login function has changed to use our new authentication method, in line with Portal.

  • When you login to Well Seeker X it will now always take you to a web login page.

  • You no longer will enter your password in the dialog, just the user name

  • It will save sessions so if the token is still valid (stored in windows credentials manager) it will not ask you to re-enter your password or MFA when you hit the connect button it will log you in

• Modification on the Oasis tools workflow:

  • If the Oasis integration is enabled when you open the tool inventory it will check to see if new tools have been shipped to Oasis.

  • If new tools are found it will ask you if you want to import them.

  • If you have the daily reports dialog open it will check every 30 mins for new Oasis tools and pop a windows notification if tools are found.

  • Tools can be imported into the Inventory from Oasis with no credentials entered on the local machine, but have to be entered on the portal.
