6.0 - Logistics

The Logistics page allows an administrator to track their organisation’s inventory. Any well that has inventory on it will be displayed on this page, along with a full list of components. A well’s inventory can be edited in the Inventory page under Well Views.

At the top of the page is the Map. This displays all wells that currently have inventory on them on a Google Maps window. The map can be moved around by left clicking and dragging, and can be zoomed in and out using the mouse wheel.

The user can hover over a well on the map for some extra information. If the map is zoomed out too far to distinguish between individual wells, they are clustered together with an icon that shows the number of wells in the cluster. Clicking on a cluster will zoom in, allowing the user to see individual rigs.

Note: Google Maps uses its own co-ordinate reference system which usually will not match the CRS of the wells, so the location of wells on the Map will not exactly match their true location.

Just below the Map is a toggle button that allows the user to toggle from the Map to the Logistics Chart. This chart lists all the rigs that currently have inventory on them along the X-Axis, and the total number of components on the Y-Axis.

The chart is colour coded according to the different component types in the inventory at each rig. The component types and their corresponding colours are listed in the key below the X-Axis. Clicking on a component in the key will remove it from the chart. The user can also hover over the bars on the chart to get an exact count for the selected component at each rig.

Below the Map and the Logistics Chart is the components list, which contains all drill string components stored in the organisation’s database. These components are grouped by the rig and well where they are currently located. Wells are coloured according to their status – green for active, yellow for TD and red for standby.

Components in the list are given a status of either clean or dirty. Components are automatically marked as dirty if they are used in a drill string that goes below the rotary table in their selected well.

The user can filter the list by typing in a component name, type or serial number into the search bar at the top of the list.
